MIPGS Library has a rich collection of
over 18127 volumes spanning over 5230 titles. Besides the Central facility, each department
has separate departmental Library. The central Library is attended to by a good number of
highly qualified professional and skilled staff.
The Library has Reference, Issue, Periodical, Book Bank and Audiovisual sections.
REFERENCE SECTION
In this section, approximately more than 5500 textbook titles and related Handbooks and other
reference material covering both disciplines. These books are for reference within the
reference section and are not normally permitted for borrowing. Reference Section provides
a spacious and quiet ambience for all students in the campus. The books are stacked
separately for each discipline. Copies of all text books prescribed in the syllabus are
maintained in this section.
PERIODICAL SECTION
The college subscribes to a number of technical magazines and
periodicals besides those of general interest. The periodicals are subscribed to based on
the recommendations of the Heads of the Department. New periodicals are being added every
year. Periodicals containing information of possible reference by students and staff are
bound and kept as back volumes
Audiovisual Library:
This is an additional facility which is providing for our college
students. We have a large and rapidly increasing collection of C Ds and other audiovisuals
for both in - house and at - home use.
Professional Memberships:
College Library is a member of IDC : Information Dissemination Centere
O.U. This facility provides for sharing journals both in the form of CDs and Hard Copies.
E-Journals are provided by SAGE Publications,Hyderabad.
College is also a member the British Council Library.
Book Bank:
For the benefit of S C & S T students under Integrated Scheme of
Social Welfare, the college has acquired adequate volumes of books.
Handing over ISSW Books to the beneficiaries:
The Sets of books which are purchased and kept in the Book Bank are
given to the SC / ST Students Permanently after expiry of life period of 3 years in
respect of each book.
Library Automation:
The Library is computerized and computerized services are provided to
its readers. It is fully equipped with necessary infrastructure, manpower to provide
improved Library services to the users.
Books issues to the faculty & students:
For every bonafide student of the college is given Four books and one CD
for a period of 15 days. For teaching staff , eight books are given for a period of one
Semester. |
